WHAT WE DO

Here at Laurentian’s, we have a passion for sausage dogs and their people! We specialize in cream longhaired dachshunds, and also breed a variety of colors in smooth haired dachshunds. If you’ve never worked with a registered breeder before, the process is different from a shelter or a rescue. As an ethical breeder my goal is to be a member on your team, helping you find the right puppy, then supporting you throughout the life of the dog, without being annoying or getting in your business of course;)
My goal is also to make sure the breed’s best interests are at heart, to preserve their greatness.

MICROCHIP

Sometimes even the unthinkable can happen. We microchip your dog to make sure that even if they go out of sight, they can make their way back to you!

LITTER BOX TRAINING

Puppies will be litter box trained; meaning they know to eliminate outside of their sleeping area. They will recognize the scent of grass and weeds to eliminate, meaning potty training is much easier for you!

CKC REGISTRATION

We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club. Your pup will be registered with the CKC, which means you know that it is a pure bred dog and their lineage can be traced.

TAKE-HOME BAG

We never let a puppy go empty-pawed. We include a number of items for your puppy, including a bag of Royal Canin puppy food and a binder to keep all of your documents organized!

VET EXAM, VACCINES AND DEWORMING

Your pup will be examined by a vet and they will receive their age-appropriate vaccines. We also deworm our puppies to ensure they are healthy and protected before coming to their forever home with you!

Starting your puppy journey is an exciting new world; but as with anything new, you will have a lot of questions. My goal is to give you the best foundation. I have compiled many helpful resources in my puppy experience for what really works best, and I am happy to share it with you.

EARLY NEUROLIGICAL STIMULATION

We practice ENS on all of our pups! It has been observed that dogs exposed to ENS have improved cardio vascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. We believe this makes puppies more adaptable to new situations in life!

  • The process of getting our little puppy Frankie from Kamryn was amazing! I really liked that there’s an application to apply to get a puppy to make sure that we are the right fit. It’s so nice to see someone care so much about her animals and take such good care of them. When we went to visit before picking up Frankie we got the pleasure of meeting Frankie’s mom and dad which was so so nice. You can tell all the dogs and puppies are in a great environment. Kamryn posted a lot of information about the breed and things to prepare/buy for the puppy. Anytime I needed any information she was a text away and answered very quickly all my questions.
